Golf Safaris

The vast expanse of the African bush with its wild animals is what makes Phalaborwa in the Limpopo Province so unique, not only in South Africa but throughout the world. It is here that we have grown Golf Safaris from a love of golf, a passion for nature and years of travel.

Through the exploration of our pleasures and hobbies, we have gained knowledge in many aspects of the golf industry and combined it with over a decade of world travel to offer you a unique South African adventure.

Created for the smaller golfing group Golf Safaris allows you to have an unforgettable bush experience that is like any game of golf, no two are the same.

Not forgetting those Non golfers (golf widows and spinsters), there are a host of safaris to be done that can be recounted at the dinner table to combat those golfing tales.

Activities.

  • Golf

The Hans Merensky and Skukuza Golf Courses both have unique characteristics that make them ideally suited for your true Golf Safari. Few places offer the rare opportunity to play golf amongst the giants of the African bush within one of the worlds greatest conservation areas. With abundant birds and freely roaming wildlife, it’s often that you will stroll up the fairway alongside a towering giraffe or tee off surrounded by a troop of inquisitive baboons, you then realise that this is no ordinary game of golf.

  • Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park is a glimpse of the romantic Africa of yesteryear, the beauty, the power and the balance of a world untouched by man. It is a world of breath-taking scenery and endless vistas of African bush. Whether your interests lie in the Big 5 or the wide variety of birds, day and night game drives or bush walks all offer an excellent opportunity for you to come eye to eye with them and other animals. Experience the night in a Hide, the sights, scents and sounds of the African bush will bring on a deep sense of peace.

  • Birding

Boasting an even more varied and spectacular range of bird species than animals it is hard not to become a bird watcher. Your birding Mecca of South Africa with its mixed bushveld, mountains, savannas and ravines offers you the opportunity to spot the ’Big 6’ (many species from the Ground Hornbill to the Martial Eagle). If you want to have a bird list that any enthusiast would envy then this is the place for you.

  • Olifants River Cruise

As the sun sets one can enjoy sundowners and a South African braai whilst cruising down the Olifants River. Bordering the Klaserie Game Reserve one is able to spot a variety of water birds and wildlife, not to mention a multitude of hippos and crocodiles. The bird life is an experience not to be missed.

  • Rehabilitation and Breeding Projects

For the more hands on experience and in depth education on certain species, you’ll want to visit one of the leading Breeding projects and Rehabilitation Centres in the area. It is here that you will have the chance to assist with feeding of the animals or walk with the likes of a lion or elephant whilst learning more about the indigenous wildlife.

  • Day Trips

Hoedspruit offers a range of places to keep one busy, from the Hoedspruit Research and Breeding Centre for Endangered Species, Moholoholo, Khamai Reptile Park, Bombyx Mori Silk Farm, Tshukudu and The Trading Post, there is a little something for everyone.

The Panorama Route to the Blyde River Canyon offers awe-inspiring views of forest clad cliffs, waterfalls, canyons and plains as far as the eye can see. It includes, The Three Rondavels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Lisbon and Berlin Waterfalls, Gods Window and the towns of Graskop and Pilgrims Rest.

  • Soft Adventure

For those with a little wilder side, one can take to the air on a Balloon Safari or Microlight flight. Not quite so high up but still airborne, there’s an Elephant-back Safari, lower yet, a Horseback Safari, and the lowest being a Quad Bike Safari.

Accommodation.

Your safari would be incomplete if at the end of the day you did not retreat to a bed in the bush. Masorini Bush Lodge is intimate and set within nature itself where you will be able to relax and enjoy the personal attention and friendly service.

By day enjoy the freedom of nature walks and birding or relaxing around a pool, and by night enjoy the oneness created by meals and drinks around a campfire and watering hole in the bush.
